Thistlewood has great people that ask all the right questions that we wouldn't have thought of. What made them stand out to us was how upfront and honest they were regarding costs and their packages. Not only did they offer a wide range of choices but their priority was my husband and I. Other venues we viewed were nearly three times the cost of Thistlewood but offered not even half of the services provided or nearly as beautiful. For what we paid for a full day at Thistlewood would have been a partial payment for a few hours at other non inclusive venues. They made it possible to not only plan the wedding in 10 months but to perfect it! If there was a mix up on communications they fixed it immediately.
Thistlewood offered amazing options for vendors that they recommended, most notable of these was our wedding coordinator. Who, might I add, was fantastic in all communications with the venue and other vendors.
The venue itself was absolutely beautiful. The food provided by their on site kitchen staff was some of the best food we have ever had. Not to mention the sheer variety of options related to food AND their attentiveness to allergies and dietary restrictions of guests.
The guest loved it so much, many said they had not been to a wedding as nice as ours in a long time. Friends our age said Thistlewood set the bar for what a wedding should be and we couldn't agree more. We have not had a single negative thing said about the venue, only praise.
Thistlewood is the best wedding venue for your wedding from price to the nearly all inclusive packages!

When I tell you we had the wedding of our dreams, I mean we had the most perfect version of our dreamiest wedding—far better than we could’ve ever imagined. And... read more the reason it was as absolutely, stunningly perfect is because of Thistlewood. From the moment we came to tour we were absolutely enthralled with Thistlewood’s beauty, its gorgeousness inside and out. The chapel, the fountain, the statue garden, the manor itself—it is the epitome of beauty. We were a bit concerned about having such a large guest count (150), but everyone fit perfectly and comfortably. Our wedding ceremony felt intimate and romantic, despite how many people were in attendance.
Looking beyond all of its scenic beauty, the absolute best part of Thistlewood is its staff. Mary Jo was so sweet and helpful, particularly when we were choosing our dinner menu and centerpieces for our tables. She had so much patience with us as we debated all of our options. The owner, Ginny Tipton truly went above and beyond. She did a phenomenal job communicating with us and walking us through the nightmare that can be wedding planning. Not only that, she was the most excellent host and day-of coordinator. She helped keep the bride calm and made sure the groom was ready every step of the way. She tended to guests who needed extra assistance and she worked seamlessly alongside our other vendors.
We could go on and on about how much we loved this venue—the great location, the exquisite food, the bridal suite and groom’s room, the picturesque backdrops for our guests, the regal staircase… We genuinely cannot imagine our wedding having taken place anywhere else. It was truly the most magical, memorable, perfect day.
If you’re considering Thistlewood Manor and Gardens for your wedding day, I cannot recommend them enough. They will help you create the absolute wedding day of your dreams.

The venue was great for our smaller ceremony and reception, providing an intimate space that suited our needs perfectly. Ginny and Mary Jo gave excellent vendor recommendations as well. I love this venue! The team is very friendly and accommodating! We were hair and makeup vendors for the day and the team came in and made sure we knew... read more there was food for us and they checked on our team multiple times throughout the day. They were on top of the food and ensuring the bridal party was fed and had everything they needed. I felt very welcome and that they truly cared about the experience everyone had while on property!
